What is Ampalaya Tea?
An Ampalaya tea is made from dried pure ampalaya leaves. The leaves are packed in special bags. Most tea bags are available in your supermarket or specialty food store. To get the freshest tea, be sure to select those tea bags sealed in protective packets.

How to prepare Ampalaya tea? There are 3 ways to do it.
  1. Hot Ampalaya Tea by Cup: Place 1 tea bag in a cup. Pour boiling water over tea bag in a cup and let stand for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Hot Ampalaya Tea by Pot. Place 4-5 tea bags in a teapot. Add a quart of boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes. You can serve this tea with honey or sugar.
  3. Iced Tea, Quick Brew Method:Place 6 tea bags in a one-quart container. Pour 1 cup (8 ounces) of boiling water over tea bags and steep 10 minutes. Remove tea bags. Add 3 cups (24 ounces) of cold water. Serve over ice. Sweeten to taste.
If you prefer more bitter taste, steep it longer.
